Dr Susan Palmer – Founder & CEO
Susan, the founder and CEO of Gather My Crew, is a registered psychologist and health consultant. She has worked in public health and the not-for-profit sector for the past 20 years and has significant experience working with those suffering trauma. Susan has experience developing clinical psychology services, a research PhD investigating the impact of trauma on young people, experience conducting psychosocial research projects in hospital and health services, and has worked with large health organisations in her capacity as a health consultant advising on health design and service delivery. A passion to build healthier and stronger communities has been combined with this clinical, research and consulting experience to create the foundation of this unique project.
Elly Stewart – Operations Manager
Elly was a lawyer before pursuing her passion for food in the hospitality industry as a Senior Events Manager. She has considerable experience coordinating and organising groups of people to reach a common goal. She is now employing these formidable organisational skills to keep Gather My Crew running smoothly and as President of the Anglesea Recreation & Sports Club.
Kate Clayton – Marketing, Communications & Fundraising Manager
Kate brings to Gather My Crew an incredibly unique and highly desirable skill set. Having spent over 10 successful years working in marketing across both the non-profit and business sectors, Kate made the decision to pursue her passion for making a difference by training as a social worker. This makes Kate a qualified social worker and an experienced marketing professional – a knockout combination that she is going to use to our full advantage as she works to spread the word about Gather My Crew. Kate’s role involves building relationships within the non-profit sector, community support organisations and emergency services while engaging the wider community in our work to make sure that every Australian experiencing a crisis is aware that Gather My Crew is there to help them get the practical help they need.
Simon Want – Corporate Relationships Manager
Simon is committed to pursuing positive and aspirational changes to public policy and business strategies that deliver better communities.
A country boy who grew up on farms across NSW with a nurse and career public servant for parents he developed a love for the outdoors and a passion for public good issues. This lured Simon into studying Ag. Economics and then as a research economist with an Australian Government.
This formed the basis for living and working across Australia leading change and transformation projects where the public and private sectors intersect, supporting leaders who are trying to change the world.
